A Review on the Acupuncture Treatment of Neck Pain

Abstract
Objectives£ºThe purpose of this study is to review the acupuncture treatment of neck pain and find a new knowledge.

Methods£ºWe searched articles in several search engines with keywords of 'neck acupuncture' and 'neck pain acupuncture'. Articles about an external accident were excluded.

Results£º10 articles were selected from domestic search engines and 12 were selected from international engines.

Conclusions£ºThe visual analogue scale was the most used evaluation tool in both domestic and overseas. Mann-Whitney u test was the most used statistics in domestic papers. Paired-t test was the most used statistics in international papers. SPSS was the most used statistical program in both domestic and overseas. GB20 was the most commonly used acupoint in domestic papers. Whereas GB21 was the most commonly used in overseas. Number of study subjects the most used in domestic papers were between 31 and 40. Number of study subjects the most used in overseas papers were 120. IRB approval was mentioned in 1 paper in domestic and 9 in overseas.
